Getting ready for The Savage Race

The Savage Race. Just the name puts a bit of fear in me. What is the Savage Race and why in the heck am I running it?

Well let me tell you a bit about the race, then I will let you know why me and the hubby have decided to race.

The savage Race is a 5-6 mile long race with 25 obstacles. It is not for the faint at heart I can tell you that. The whole goal of the race is to kick your butt! The obstacles range from running through muddy pools, running through fire, and working as a team to get over high walls. This race is THE race in my opinion.

There are longer obstacle races, but with The Savage Race you have less time jogging between obstacles and more time trying to conquer them.

So instead of heading to the bar on a Saturday night, why not join your friends on a team and join us on Race Day here in Dallas on November 23,2013!

So now that you have an idea of what we are up against, let me now share with you the facts.

#1 I have never run in a long race before

#2 until recently I have not even been working out

#3 We both still have a lot of work to do before race day

So the challenge has begun for me and the hubby. My son who is 18 is also thinking about racing with us,which I hope he chooses to do. I think it would be so much fun to compete as a family.

Through the last 18 months we have combined lost over 80lbs,but we are not there yet. So I have promised myself to exercise daily and push myself a bit farther everyday so as to build up my endurance for race day.

Can we finish the race? Who really knows, but I promise I will give it my all and push my self farther than I have ever pushed myself before. I WILL complete the race!

For more info on the race check them out below

Let them know you heard it first on Laniebugzlikes

****Also stay tuned in the coming months as I will be giving away the chance for one person to join us on race day in Dallas,TX November 23,2013.

*I was given free tickets to race, but doing a review is always my choice and all opinions stated are mine and mine alone.
