Dinner with my love at Pignetti’s Italian Restaurant

Pignettis Restaurant Disclaimer:Me and my husband were given a complimentary dinner in exchange for this review. However all opinions stated are mine and mine alone .

We are moving back to our home town this weekend and will be moving out of Central Texas. One of my favorite places to eat since we first moved here is Pignetti’s.

This local Italian Restaurant is locally owned and only about 3 blocks from where we live in Downtown Temple,TX. It is a small quaint place for a romantic dinner or just a quick casual lunch.

We happened to be there on a Wednesday night which is the Wine Tasting from 5-9. For $10 per person you get taste 4 different wines while enjoying 2 different appetizers. It is a great way to try new wines before buying a whole bottle.

They also have family nights on Tuesday when the Ribeyes are only $11.99

To start each meal you are given a basket of bread with out of this world dipping oils. I have to make myself stop eating it every time so I have room for my meal,it is that good!

We saw they had changed the menu since our last visit,so we had to try the Mango Scallops since we both love scallops. The presentation is always spot on and makes us feel we are eating at a much more expensive restaurant than we really are.

I had never had a scallop cooked so perfectly or taste so good.I am going to have to try to recreate these at home soon. One of my all time favorite dishes I have ever had.I wish there had been more than four.

See what I mean? Every dish is perfectly prepared and served. I chose the Tequila Lime Double Pork Chops and my husband went with the Ribeye.

Both meals were so large we needed to go boxes, which they packed up nicely for us.

If you love Italian food and a great bottle of wine, then you will love Pignetti’s. The owners are usually on hand and willing to discuss the wine choices with you and help you find the perfect one for you.

So as you are thinking of where to dine this weekend keep Pignetti’s in mind and head to downtown Temple for the evening.

There are also local bars right around the corner to finish out your evening.

You can also check them out on FACEBOOK.
